    Mouse screwing up

I seem to have a strange problem. On Win 10 21h1 build 19043.1288
I have done a reset but kept my files when recovering
The problem is the mouse stops working and I have to shut down and restart. Then it works for a little while then screws up again.
The weird thing is the mouse right button works in some spots and not others. Like I can get the context menu when right clicking the desktop but if I right click the taskbar I get nothing. Same with the left button. works in some spots but not others. It never works on the power menu tho so I always have to power down via the power button.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Is your mouse a wireless type? If so, how far is the receiver from the mouse? Did you changed the battery?

wired mouse so distance isn't a factor and no battery change

    How old is the mouse?
Some years ago I had a mouse that was failing. The problem was a broken wire inside the cable just where the cable gets out of the mouse. Due to repeating movements the cable bents on same place, braking the wires inside the cable. I fixed cutting a piece of the cable and re jointing the wires inside the mouse.

I am calling this solved to close the thread. At least I put that in the title. (not sure how u do it)
anyway the problem MAY have been a corrupt disk. Just for the heck of it I did a disk check and it found a few errors and repaired them. Since then I haven't had the mouse problem.
