    How to make cloned drive bootable

    I cloned my Windows 10 SSD drive to another drive in my computer (not SSD) and I need to make it bootable. It's called Windows G and it doesn't show up when I boot the computer, I get my Windows 10 and Marcum Reflect to choose from. I'd like to have Windows 10 on the Windows G drive and upgrade my Windows 10 on the SSD to windows 11 that way I'd have 11 and 10 on the computer. I just need to get the windows G to boot and show up in the selection screen at boot up. My windows 10 version is 21H1 version 19043.1266 Windows 10 Pro

    If you post a screenshot of diskmgmt it might just be a simple case of creating/fixing the critical boot files on the esp.

    If you remove c does g then boot? As its cloned it will have the same disk signature as c so may apear as the same drive

    @squid13
    try:

    from an elevated cmd prompt type ( or copy and paste the line below)

    bcdboot g:\windows /s \Device\HarddiskVolume4

    (then press enter)

    @Samurai
    Both the source and clone are online in the screenshot. Therefore they wont have the same disk sig.

    You need an elevated ( aka administrator ) cmd prompt.

    You can also add /f uefi at the end of the line, but it shouldnt be necessary

    If your bios is set up correctly, you should now see that disk as a boot option in your bios boot settings. You can select the order there.

    Or press the one time boot menu key at post ( F12 on my machine, might be different on yours)

    Or just unplug the sata power cable to disk0 and it should boot straight into the cloned disk.

    bcdboot g:\windows /s \Device\HarddiskVolume4 /f uefi

    I added that \f uefi and this is what I got. the bottom screen shot should be the middle image. the bios is uefi managed.
