Blue Screen 'stopcode' Error - D:\Drive now missing

    Hi guys,

Out of nowhere, the Windows 10 blue crash screen appeared. I let Windows restart however once booted, my D:\ drive partition has disappeared from my system. I've followed all steps I can find online, used disk management however the partition is not showing there, even after rescanning for disks. Only my C drive is present (with the usual capacity), the D drive capacity is not showing anywhere and is not showing as being unallocated.

I've also tried software (AOMEI Partition Assistant) but again the partition is not showing, only my default C:\drive shows with it's usual capacity.

Any ideas what to do or where I should start?

    Thanks :)

Is the D:\ drive a separate HDD? or is it a partition on the same Disk as C:?
Please post a screenshot of Disk Management showing the lower pane, or of AOMEI Partition Assistant

    Hi,

Yep, the partition is on the same drive as the C:\ - I didn't choose to create the partition though, it just seemed to do it when I installed Windows 10 a long time ago (nothing new has changed recently)

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 7559, I believe my D drive had around 400/500gb. I don't know how that 'space' can completely disappear and not even show under C:\, which still shows 128gb, it hasn't increased to 500gb, so that space must still be allocated somewhere?

    Thanks

Your Disk Management pic shows that full capacity of Disk 0 being taken up by your C: drive, so the D: partition would not be on the same Disk 0 as Windows. It would be another HDD completely. And that drive is either not plugged in, or it has failed. If it has failed and it is still plugged in that would cause BSOD's.
You may be confusing the Partition with either of the two Hidden Partitions on Disk 0 which do not have Drive letters and are around 500 MB's not GB.
If a 500 GB D: drive has appeared again in Disk Management, backup all files you want to keep to another drive as it will fail again very soon.

I would be curious to see a new disk management screenshot with the drive "Working" ?

HI guys, this is what my disk management looks like now it is back working. Apologies if I wrote something which wasn't quite right and made it difficult to understand.

It looks like it's not a partition, but a totally seperate drive? (which I don't understand as its all default laptop with nothing extra)

Both the disk 0 and disk 1 are my laptop hardrive. It is the disk 1 that was not appearing at all. I don't know why my disk is split in to disk 1 and disk 0 and neither is external, it just seemed to happen this way when I installed Windows 10. I previously stated that my D:drive was around 500gb, but I was mistaken, that's how much capacity I have remaining

Not sure if any of that makes sense? No idea what happened to cause it to disappear, I turned my computer off for an hour or so, then when I switched it back on, the disk 1 (D: drive) had returned. Everything is now backed up to an external hard drive :) :)
    Thanks

Is it the computer from your description we are talking about ?

You cannot have "Physically" a drive "0" and "1" on the same disk.... If "it is" the laptop in your description and it have a DVD writer... You can have hardisk hidden in there... Shutdown the computer before attempting to eject the disk. To verify this "theory"

    Hi,

Yep, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 7559, 1tb harddrive, no CD or DVD drive.

For as long as I can remember I've been recieving this error code on boot - "Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed", my computer loads fine and I am not requested to do anything. Not sure if that could be connected to the issue? I've had trouble before where the Dell BIOS update failed
