Emco UnlockIT (free) is helpful, as it can handle both folders and files.
If necessary, it can automatically set up scheduled deletion of protected items on restart (i.e. when Windows isn't running, so no protection applies).

All done from Windows, no need to use a bootable disk - though that's another option of course.

Yes. Lesson learned. I won't be using Fileshredder on NVMe drive in any case. But it was either that or reformat the drive.
Reformatting the NVMe drive won't fix that problem. That is on the memory chips itself.
You can remove the file then run TRIM. Optimize and Defrag Drives in Windows 10

How is the single pass different from a standard delete? And what methods do you suggest to remove a file? Booting in safemode and as regular (myself Admin) and the separate Administrator profile didn't work.

Of course, I'd like to know how this happened in the first place, but removal is more important right now.
    1. delete the file then use TRIM. Optimize and Defrag Drives in Windows 10
    2. Using Linux live CD/USB terminal. rm "/mnt/sda1/PATH/OF/THE/FILE.txt"
    3. Using WSL. rm "/mnt/c/PATH/OF/THE/FILE.txt" (Note: command parameters on WSL and Linux Live are different because of different mount points.)
    4. Using PowerShell. Remove-Item "C:\PATH\OF\THE\FILE.txt" -Force
    5. Using CMD. del "C:\PATH\OF\THE\FILE.txt"

    If you can't delete it:
    1. Select the Continue with the Administrator icon. TRIM requires Administrative Previliges.
    2. Use sudo rm instead of rm
    3. Same as 2. (Use sudo rm instead of rm) Run WSL as admin.
    4. Run PowerShell as Admin.
    5. Same as 4. (Run CMD as Admin.)

    Notes for some of it:
    2. You need an Linux Live CD or USB for this to work.
    3. You need to Enable WSL, download and run your specified distro. Enable or Disable Windows Subsystem for Linux WSL in Windows 10

    Screenshot if possible the results.

If that nvme has a 300tbw rating, you would expect it to show 99% after about 3tb . It seems just a little previous.

    Attachment 347250
That's actually moot. I've seen screenshots from third party hd monitors like from Hard Drive Sentinel and CrystalDiskInfo where users have 50+TBW on their SSDs/NVMe and their health is at 100%.

Samsung confirmed with me that Fileshredder "hammered the crap out" of the cells where the file was and that resulted in the dropped health rating.

I deleted the file with Fileshredder within Windows. File name was over 288 characters long. Unfortunatlely, that caused a reduction in my Drive health.

Linux and it's heavy emphasis on command prompt type like commands is beyond the capability of my puny brain.
