@bobkn - I agree. I put in my complete model # on acers page and it stated that the ssd interface was a sata/600. At the end of the day even if the interface is a higher speed it will work for me. Thank you.
Benchmarks are one thing. Real world performance is different. In your laptop, I doubt that you would see much real world difference between a SATA III SSD and an NVMe SSD.
The manufacturers like to emphasize the sequential read/write speeds which for NVME SSDs are a lot larger than those for SATA SSDs. The Random read/write speeds of NVME SSDs is still larger that SATA SSDs but the difference is a lot less.
Real use speeds are probably closer to Random ones so for the average user they probably won't see as big a difference as the numbers indicate.
In any case even a SATA SSD is much faster than a hard drive. I found that out when I replaced a 3.5-inch 7200rpm hard drive with a 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The increase in performance was amazing.

And yes, a SATA SSD will run circles around a spinning HDD, especially when using it for operations and not just large file (like movie) storage.
