    need help with storage spaces

my current windows is version 20H2. ok so i created a simple volume storage pool using 3x4TB platter drives, which gives me about 10.9TB of raw storage no biggies there. when i created the storage pool i set the maximum size of the pool to 63TB so that i could add more drives to the pool if i needed more storage space. however when i click on this pc and open it my storage pool shows 62.9TB free which is the max size i allowed for the pool but my physical drive space is only 10.9TB. is there any way to fix this so that it will tell me how much physical space out of the 10.9TB is left instead of how ,much of the pool storage is left?

Set the size to show the actual instead of the imaginary.
Crap in---crap out will never change.

how exactly do i set my actual size every guide i followed told me to make the maximum size larger so if needed i could add more drives to the pool example if i set my pool size to the 10.89 gigs of my 3 4tb drives i will not be able to add more drive to the pool

if i set my storage pool to the 10.89 tb of space my 3 drives give me after format i will not be able to add more drives to the pool sure it will show the correct space in this pc but that defeats my purpose so how do i solve this

There are several tutorials on Storage Spaces.

    This one covers adding drives:
How to Add Disks to Storage Pool for Storage Spaces in Windows 10

See if it helps at all. More are listed below the main text, or see the Tutorial section.

I've not used Storage Spaces personally, and it seems few actually do.

You might find the discussion here of interest:

As for viewing available free space, see the first screenshot here and see if that helps:

The number you put in is the only recognizable one. The machine cannot distinguish between fact or fiction, that ability separates human from artificial intelligence.
    For example:
1 A wool coat is made from wool.
2 A fur coat is made from fur.
3 A rain coat is made from rain.
Number 3 defines whether you are man or machine.
The size which you physically enter, not the "wished for" one is the determining factor.
