Update TMP from 1.2 to 2.0 on HP 8460p

    Hello,
Has anyone updated the TPM chip on HP 8460p to 2.0 specification?
I have seen many guides online but this model is not included in any of them.
I would like to know if it would be also possible to update TPM on this model.
    Thanks!

Hi this appears to be from around 2011, and HP offers some drivers to Win 8.1, a full set for Win 7:

Have you seen this very detailed guide?
Update HP TPM Firmware 1.2 to 2.0 using SCCM and HP TPM Configuration Utility

As to specifics of an individual PC, you might be wise to enquire on an HP forum as well.

    Hi,
Only a bios update can do this so manufacture only can answer your question

Otherwise there are and will be many workarounds to alter the 11 iso/.. installer for win-11 new obnoxious security requirements so old hardware can use 11

Just out of curiosity, do you wish to do this to fulfil the TPM 2.0 requirement for Windows 11?

The laptop is about 10 years old. It has a second generation Intel CPU. Win 11 requires Gen 8 or later. (There is some chance that will be relaxed to some Gen 7.)

If you want to play with the beta versions of 11. you can probably do that, although you may have to find work-arounds to get it to install. Unless Microsoft changes their policy, you will not be able to use the release version of 11 without hacking it.
