Extending disk drive without being allowed to do so easily....

My pc was doing a recovery recently & there was a short power outage & my pc went awol! Thanks to some help from someone on eight forums (I didn't know ten existed at the time!) I was able to thankfully get it working without cost.

However, I have noticed that my Windows C disk file is pretty small, with only 12 GB left, whereas I had almost 1.73 TB unallocated. I don't care about the info & managed to change it from unallocated to F drive, as I was unable to add it to C Drive.

I now realise that I really do need it adding to C drive somehow (extending c drive is grey whereas I can shrink it (NOT what I want to do!) Does anyone please know how I can do this pref without additional cost and if they could literally talk me through how to do it (all faults would be my own btw)

    Any ideas, anyone? Please...
Windows 10 is up to date btw, Version 1803 (OS Build 17618.1000)

EaseUS Partition Master freeware - gives you a graphics portrayal of your drive(s). Makes it easier to know what to extend, shrink, etc

    Also AOMEI freeware, similar.

    Hello @Shyler,
    Welcome to TenForums.

I personally use AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard or Mini Tool Partition Wizard. They have an easy to follow and use UI. I have used them for years . . .

     Mini Tool Partition Wizard

    About Mini Tool Partition Wizard:

Mini Tool provides users with portable partition software to better configure disk and partitions, bringing brand new user experience and overcoming the many shortcomings in Windows Disk Management.

    Both 32-bit & 64-bit downloads available.

    I hope this helps.

One more idea, I use a GPARTED LiveCD and/or the program installed on my Linux Desktop for doing such work outside of Windows in manipulating partitions or completely cleaning drives. But first I use a drive dock [not connected to any computer] to do a Byte for Byte hardware clone of the drive against the odds that something will fail. Just last week cloned a 1TB to a 2TB which gave me the bootable partition and an unallocated partition to create and format.

Aomei, Easeus and Minitool all are great, They all offer free versions and the paid versions do more. I have used each one and they all pretty much do the same thing with the same great results.
