Windows 10: Latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Windows 10
Finally got a chance to DL and try this, on 10565 BTW, scroll still not working. DV7-1240us.
I may check out that 8.1 driver as well ...
was hoping this would fix the scrolling fault with windows programs but can not install this update
uninstalled the driver before trying to install this but windows came up and said the best driver already installed
the one windows installed was back to version 10
version 15 was on before i uninstalled it
tried installing it manually and windows would not let it
now managed to get version 15 reinstalled
still not working in windows latest update
I'm still unable to install latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Windows 10
I have a Acer Aspire 7738G laptop which I upgraded from Win7 to Win10, the synaptics driver was still active after upgrade but Win10 does not allow to disable or update the driver.
If i delete the Synaptics driver, Win10 always installs a PS/2-compatible mouse driver after reboot.
I'm currently using Windows 10 Home (version 1511 build 10586.3)
Any help welcome, thanks.
I've had exactly the same issue on my Samsung Q330 laptop, with the initial W7>W10 upgrade, and again with the W10-1511 upgrade.
I assume you've downloaded and are using the latest Synaptics 18.104.22.168 driver update?
If so, what you need to do is this...
- Go into Device Manager, select Mouse and click update drivers, then select the following.
- Browse My Computer
- Let me pick from a list
- Have disk button
- select the folder with the new Synaptics drivers (in my case it was ..\WinWDF\x86)
- select synSmbDrv.inf, and install
- Reboot, then you will find the additional touchpad options from <WinKey+I> Mouse
thanks have now got scroll working on windows programs tested edge , menu and insider hub so far all working
it works now, thanks
one remark, i had to select ..\WinWDF\x64 instead of ..\WinWDF\x86
for ..\WinWDF\x86 i got message no drivers available in this directory
after install and reboot i'm still not able to disable the touchpad, i would like to disable when i'm using an external usb mouse.
You should find this option on the Synaptics Touchpad settings options...
After updating from b. 10240 to 10586.3 ( W 10 x64), Windows installed an older version of Synaptics 22.214.171.124, before I had 126.96.36.199.
Also now, in Device Manager, it's listed under PS/2 Port touchpad, before it was SmBus.
Windows Update does no longer provide 188.8.131.52 driver, Why??
What are the recommended steps to get installed manually the latest Synaptics driver because with the currently installed driver, mouse scrolling does not work for Start menu - All apps, with 184.108.40.206 it used to work.
Also what is the name of the x64 .inf to use for update synSmbDrv.inf or SynPD.inf??
Hi Vaoi 7 - you can download the 220.127.116.11 drivers from here, then follow the instructions in post #15
Hi! New to the forum...I just upgraded my windows 7 original install on my Toshiba Laptop (3 years old) to the Windows 10 Home Preview Build (10130 was installed). Everything appears to be working EXCEPT my touchpad will not scroll.

I successfully upgraded yesterday from 8.1 and this morning I was looking at the new "desktop switcher." I was looking for an OSX style touchpad gesture to switch between them. I followed the instructions on the second part of Get Mac-Like Scrolling...
Just noticed that they updated their software August 12 2015.

Apologies if already posted. I did a quick search and didn't find anything.
Does this happen for anyone else? I don't like the two finger reverse scroll that windows 8 and windows 10 uses on default. I prefer that when I swipe two fingers down the page goes down, not up.
I go to the synaptic settings uncheck reverse...
