I would cry if I did NOT have to laugh. The first partition on the thumb drive was working; now it is NOT.

I download and installed "Mini Tool Partition Wizard". It looks like a neat little program; I can NOT tell after telling it to format a partition on the thumb drive to format, is it doing thing.

I told it to format the 1st partition and now I am just watching it. I will give it at least 1/2 hour and that should be a plenty.

Do you see the "Apply" and "Undo" buttons on the left pane?

yes Matthew Wai I looked at that page but I could NOT download the "FakeUSBtest software" I could NOT sign in for some ungodly reason.

I have download and installed two different free programs that are supposed to format a thumb drive. Both of them failed. I am at a loss right now. I do have a friend that does work on computers and he may have a way to format this thumb drive.

Is there a specific reason not to try the very basic, first step troubleshooting of any USB flash drive posted in post #6? Just curious....

    Hi huffman,
since Disk Management doesn't help, you may try a 3rd party tool to reformat them, like partition wizard.
