    Intermittent Weird Keyboard Issue

    Hi All,

Bit of a weird issue that has been going on for a few weeks now.

Running a PC Specialist Defiance laptop (based on a Clevo) Win 10 Version 20H2 (Build 19042.1052) & randomly the keyboard would stop working.

It's an old & well used machine, so I'd have thought it was hardware related, however I discovered a work around that makes no sense.

I am using Yahoo Mail (in Firefox) & if I try to type in the search bar, the keyboard will come back alive. If I mash buttons on another page in Firefox or on another program, nothing happens.

Does this happen with any other web page in FF?

The issue occurs on any page & in any program (not just in Firefox).

It just only Yahoo Mail in Firefox that strangely seems to resolve it

Does it happen in Safe Mode? Is a third-party software installed, something like AutoHotKey? A diagnostic I use for hardware issues is booting a Linux Mint LiveUSB or LiveDVD to check functions that are giving problems [both are full-featured, just don't click the Install icon].

I will have to test it in safe mode. Nothing like AutoHotKey is installed.

Seeing as this is still a relatively new thread, I'll reply. I have a G110 as well, and ever since building a new desktop (and therefore needing to download brand-new software and drivers) I've been having a key-lockup issue. It is 100% not a physical problem, the keyboard works fine on my old rig. After weeks of searching, I've learned that it is a "DirectInput overload" issue, if there's any single app that requests/receives DirectInput data, it can and will overload the keyboard and cause it to lock up on a single key. I have been hunting for WEEKS for an old version of the software/drivers.
