Problems with internal HDD move out to become External HDD

    Goodmorning,

I had 3 drives on my pc (1 ssd-m2, 1 hdd, 1ssd) and because i need to switch data from one pc to another i bought a docking station.

Right now i put my internal HDD and SSD (2/3) in it and if i tried to boot windows without the docking station on, i receive this error ( Reboot and select proper boot device and press a key), anyone knows how to fix it?

    - I tried to change the boot priority but it doesn't work

    - I tried to Rebuild the boot configuration data but when i write "attrib c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s" it sais that he can't find the directory. o_O

The last chance is to format the first ssd ( where i have the OS ) and reinstall windows but i prefer to avoid it.

I have windows 10 right now.

    Thank you!

    It's a common issue.
You have installed Win 10 with the HDD and SSD (2/3) attached and the boot loader is in one of the drives and the the OS in another.

On your drive 2 - first partition is mark as active and it once had a OS.
    - Did you cloned drive 2 into drive 0?
    - As you have a modern computer with UEFI BIOS, why did you install as Legacy-MBR instead of UEFI-GPT?

Lets rebuild your boot loader on drive 0
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    diskpart
    select volume c
    active
    exit
    bcdboot C:\Windows /s C: /f BIOS
    exit

Shutdown, detach drive 2 (unplug SATA or power supply cable), make sure drive 0 is first on the Boot priority and try to boot.

    - I didn't clone it, but before i bought the nvme drive, my operating sistem was installed on there, now i understand why i had these problems.

    - well i don't know why i installed a Legacy-MBR ahaha and until now i didn't know the difference ( i google it). When i bought the ssd, i have just installed a normal windows 10 version without care of that.

Tomorrow i will try your advice, i hope it works ahaha just for sure i 've beckup my important files.
If i had some problems can i reinstall windows without any problems that' s right?

Does drive 2, partition F: still have Windows on it?
The commands I gave you will fix.
You can convert the Legacy-MBR to UEFI-GPT. One thing at a time.

No, before i install windows on my actually drive i format the previous ssd ( on windows manager, where you select the drive, before the installation of OS), then i continued the install on nvme. But all of 3 are connected simultaneously

Anyway thank you for your help :)

As you can see the first partition on drive 2 (Riservato per il sistema) is set as Attivo, that means it is set to boot from. After you be able to boot from drive 0, we will delete the partition.

i've done the cmd commands that you write and it works!! Thank you!

Now it appears another disk "E:" 900mb , can i hide it?

And then can i convert the Legacy-MBR to UEFI-GPT?
