Thank you again. Using the method that you described, Win10 recognized it & I already had done a full image backup using Macrium Reflect & it saved it on the flash drive. I'll mount the drive to make sure it works.

For years I have used Lexar flash drives. About two months ago I started having trouble where one of them was not recognized by Windows at all, not even showing up in Disk Management nor Device Manager. It's usable on a different computer, just not mine. The only way to move forward was to use a different flash drive.
Thank you for your reply. I was almost ready to send the drive back, but @Megahertz solution worked to make the drive recognizable by Win10.

Well, it looks like the disk fooled me. Even though Reflect was able to create an image, & I tried to mount the image, it did not load. That is, I could not explore the image. I tried 3 times, assigning a different drive letter each time. Although it showed up in File Explorer 3 times, I could not mount those drives. Disk management now shows those drive letters unavailable.

I got the following messages when trying to mount the image:

Thumbdrive intermittently gives error message & not seen by Win10-image.png

Thumbdrive intermittently gives error message & not seen by Win10-image.png

Thumbdrive intermittently gives error message & not seen by Win10-image.png

When I right click "Disk 4" at the bottom left of Disk Management, (which currently corresponds to the flash drive), it gives me the option of
Convert to dynamic disk...
Convert to MBR disk

1. I didn't want to do either until I checked back here. Should I do this or should I first test the drive with h2testw.exe?

2. How can I get those drive letters back?

Thank you for your patience.
