Samsung Magician shows SATA AHCI Deactivated. UEFI show the opposite

Hi, I have just done a new install of Windows 10 (20H2) build 19042.985. I have four NVMe SSD's , one SATA SSD and two SATA mechanical Hard Drives. My Motherboard is an Aorus Master X570. Its Users manual states that AHCI is its default.
As you can see from the attachments, my UEFI shows SATA mode as AHCI, but Samsung Magician version 6.3.0 (newly downloaded and installed) shows AHCI mode as DEACTIVATED on the SATA SSD. Its the same for the two mechanical HDDS' as well.
Searching the forum, I see that this problem was around some years ago.
    Any ideas?

Please confirm that you are saying that you actually have
I have four NVMe SSD's , one SATA SSD and two SATA mechanical Hard Drives
SEVEN physical drives connected to that computer
If so which of these besides the three shown on your screenshot which are the Samsung PM871B and two WD 1TB spinning drives are internally connected
As far as I can see the board only has three M2 sockets - One from the processor and two from the chipset

My opinion is that the 2.5 Samsung SATA drive is not fully recognised by the Samsung Magician software
    Check if it is supported
Samsung Magician Software | Samsung V-NAND SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

also if you wanted to you could check if there was a firmware update for the drive - from MVT03DOQ
Consumer SSD Installation | FAQs | Samsung Support | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website
    see firmware update

I notice you have hotplug enabled - sometimes this is not the best setting for internal sata ports

If after all that Samsung |Magician still shows AHCI deactivated and Firmware shows it is AHCI and that is confirmed as well in devie manager I would not be too concerned there are numerous reports of Samsung Magician being wrong.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, 7 drives and you are also correct that there are only 3 M2 sockets, but I have the 4th NVMe drive connected via a PCI-e expansion card. Incidentally, the motherboard has 6 SATA connectors, but when the third M2 socket is used, 2 of them are disabled, naturally, I haven't tried to use those two, and if I had made a mistake, I wouldn't be able to see the SATA SSD at all.
I will investigate as per your suggestions, and thanks

Will wait to see how changing hot plug and checking to see if your drive is supported on the links I sent and the firmware throw any light on the issue.
You will probably have read the frequency with which it is reported that the Magician provides erroneous reports regarding AHCI

    Many Thanks....but

Once again thank you for your help.
I have visited the website for my Aorus Master X570 Motherboard and have downloaded the latest Chipset Drivers and (since it was there ) the recommended Realtek HD Audio driver. I didn’t install the AMD APU driver listed, because I don’t have an APU.
There are two other, possibly relevant drivers recommended by Gigabyte - the AMD RAID Driver and AMD RAID Preinstall Driver. They are listed on the website under SATA RAID/AHCI. But I don’t use RAID, so I assume that there is no point in installing them. What do you think?
I have also updated my BIOS from 31 to 32, the latest full (non-Beta) issue.
I have change SATA hot-swap to disabled and double-checked the SATA AHCI setting.
I have been to the Samsung website and all that the Samsung Magician page says regarding the models supported, is that all Samsung SSD are supported.
I have looked at the Samsung firmware update page that you suggested, and my SATA SSD is not listed (Samsung SSD PM871b).
I have looked at the Samsung drivers page and the only SSD ‘s listed are the 860, 870, 970 and 980 series.
    I have Re-installed Samsung Magician.
None of these actions has made any difference, so I am forced to conclude that either my SATA SSD is faulty in some way, or that Samsung magician has a bug.
I am very grateful for your suggestions, even though they have not led to a fix. I am more than happy to give you a ‘rep point’, whatever that is. Please tell me how to do it.

You might have a counterfeit SSD! I was able to order right from Samsung, thus, none of that possible-counterfeit-BS!

I think from what I have read that it maybe Samsung Magician - the version your have installed
If you wish to try it I recommend you go settings and apps and find Samsung Magician and then click hat and click uninstall and then confirm all files etc,

Restart to complete the uninstallation and then download the earlier version of samsung magician
    Download Samsung Magician by Samsung
Download version 5.1.0.1120 from Software Informer
I cannot attach it from you as it is too large but I have downloaded it and scanned it

See if that shows it AHCI
It is reported that the newer version has often reported AHCI not activated

    Brilliant!!! Thanks, thanks, thanks.....

    Well Sir!!
    You are clearly a genius.
The old version which looks radically different than the new shows AHCI activated. Though it shows the SSD as not supported...odd, especially since it can get all the data about it, and my 970 EVO Plus too.
Its about time someone at Samsung ran their mind over this bit of software. I speak as a retired software engineer and then manager of 30 years experience.

    I am very grateful.

Were you actually going to use the Samsung Magician as a means of setting TRIM etc or are you relying on Windows for that.
If the Samsung Magician was only the means of checking etc , then perhaps it is not worthwhile trying further

At least you now know it would appear - that the AHCI not activated in the other version is the bug I thought it was

Thank you for the appreciation it is kind of you.
