    Didn’t seem to work, would it make any difference if I ordered a new one and replaced it?

    No, if you are not reaching the Bios then it makes no difference if your chosen Bios settings are retained instead of its settings all reverting to default.

    Is there any way I can find out if itís my mobo or cpu causing it since I have tried it with a different psu and I still get the same outcome.

    The only way I know is to swap out one or the other and that would involve spending money before the fault had even been diagnosed.

    And I do not know how likely it is that a fault on the mobo could cause a fault on any replacement cpu [or vice versa].

    @JollyFarmer,

    Have you checked the GPU? Is the monitor at fault?

    I have used both gpu and on board graphics, neither seem to work. I have also connected it to another monitor with the same results. If it would boot normally then I would know since my keyboard would light up.

    Got it. I only asked because the GPU and monitor wasn't mentioned.

    Anyway, when you changed the CMOS battery, did you choose to "load Optimized Defaults" in the BIOS?

    I’ll contact ebuyer support (the company I bought the cpu and mobo from) to see if I can still get it replaced. Thank you everyone for your help, shame it has come to the bad ending that I didn’t want.
