Formatting Hard Drive in External Enclosure

Well then may not need to at the moment in that case, just took ages on that one, as originally was gonna replace Mom's Toshiba hard drive in her system with that one, but decided i think i'll get a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch adapter and pop in a SSD for first time in that System possibly


Do have my old Samsung 860 Evo 250gb that can't use in Desktop, as all out of sata power cords what i can tell, and decided well save it, and repurpose it for possibly her system


Did the Full format on the Secondary Gaming Laptop, Intel I7 7700HQ, 8GB of ram, USB 3.0/3.1 ports lol, but sure wasn't fast LOL, took like from 11am til 2:30am, i was like finally done, Think longest Laptop ever was powered on lol, normally i use it for 4-5 hours give or take off and on, and usually on Main system for most tasks

Not forgetting you don't format an SSD the same way you would a HDD.

Yeah i know that part regarding SSDs & formatting, that was a mechanical drive that i was formatting, WD Black 1TB...

The SSD would be going once i get the 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch adapter would be into a HP P6-2133W system, several years old, purchased June 2011, was my former main system til 2016, and in 2017 went back to Intel Builds

Well Specs for The Laptop say the USB ports are suppose to be USB 3.1, after i decided to forgo swapping Mom's Toshiba hard drive for This one, next day i did transfer the data that was backed up on Desktops Internal 4TB drive back to that external. Was a little quicker using Desktop for that task though
