Troubleshooter, view detailed information may be interesting.

Dependencies of a service are given if you rt click, click Properties, Dependencies sheet.

Try booting to Safe Mode with Networking.

OK thanks. I am going to have to leave this for today as I am not very well and I missed my rest which I am supposed to have in the afternoons.

BTW, I couldn't boot into Safe Mode for some reason. I will look again tomorrow.

    Thanks again.

This morning, I still couldn't get into Safe Mode so I ran SFC and DISM Cleanup, still no joy. I even tried a Startup Recovery, still no joy.

The installation ISO I used was customised. It was the SAME one that I used to install my Desktop, which is absolutely fine.

I decided to install an untouched v1909 ISO as I thought this would work the best for the laptop specifications.

Good news. Everything seems to be working, including Booting into Safe Mode and the Wi-Fi. If I remember correctly, one of the customisations was to include the Router Password, which I have changed since then.

It installed at just under 20GB, whereas the customised ISO installed at just under 7 GB.

Anyway, as this is a project for me, I am going to create a new customised ISO and see how it goes. If it fails then, I will just install the full version and post customise it.

Thanks for your help Denis, it was very much appreciated.

I need to check that again actually!

I thought it was heading towards a clean install... maybe success will help you feel a bit better today!

I was surprised with the successful outcome of upgrading this from 1903 to 20H2- a few items to resolve, but no technical issues so far. Annoyed that MS discarded my reminders set in Calendar via Cortana, but that's about what I've come to expect of MS products embedded with the O/S.

Actually it was a clean install from Win 7 to Win 10.
