When is the last time you have cleaned your mouse? I do it at least once a month with alcohol wipes for glasses. I curl it inside as much as possible and then twist it a little. It noticeably helps to clean the sensor.
P.S. What brand is it? Some offer utilities, where you can speed it up even more.
