Bluetooth device no longer showing in Device Manager

I have lost my BT capability on my ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-F Gaming mobo.
The BT device no longer shows in DM.
This is what I have tried:
    - reinstall drivers
    - flash different BIOS, i.e. revert to previous version
    - use rapr.exe to remove old BT drivers and reinstall
    - looked in DM hidden devices, saw the BT device and uninstalled it.
Nothing seems to make a difference.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you got a System Restore Point prior to the problem that you could try?

Thanks Paul. I'm not sure when the problem started as it is not something I use very often. Looking at the restore points available, the oldest one is from 30 March. I guess I could try that, but I'm never sure what gets reverted.
I wonder if this could be related to the constant message I get in WU about not being able to install KB5000842 optional update. It downloads and goes through the install, but then gives a message with error 0x8007000d.

So, I restored the oldest point, and it has made no difference.
    Any ideas?

    Hardware Troubleshooter:

Run the Hardware troubleshooter. This checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device[s] or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly.

    [1] Goto Control Panel.
[2] Type Troubleshooting in the search box.
[3] Click on Hardware and sound under Troubleshoot computer problems.
[4] Click on Hardware and devices under Devices.
[5] Click on Advanced on the Hardware and devices dialog box, select Run as administrator.
[6] Click Next [ follow on screen instructions to complete the Hardware and devices troubleshooter ].
    [7] Try the device again.

    I hope this helps!

Sorry Paul, the option you suggested doesn't exist for me - see attached - as I think it has been deprecated, but doing a web search, I found a command line - msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic- to bring it back up. I ran it, and makes no difference, I'm afraid.

     SFC and RestoreHealth

[1] Press the Win + X keys together > Command Prompt (Admin).
[2] Highlight ALL the commands below.

    IMPORTANT:

    • It is recommended when running SFC that Fast Startup is turned OFF [ Turn it back ON when finished ] => How to Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10

    • If SFC finds any ERRORS that it can NOT repair, run SFC again upto 3 more times, Restarting after each to allow any pending actions to be implemented.

    • DISM will initially try and Repair ANY Corrupted or Missing files using the Component Store.
If this is NOT possible, DISM will use Windows Update. Therefore, Internet access is required.
If you are NOT connected to the Internet, you will receive a Error: 0x800f081f.

[3] Press the Ctrl + C keys together.
[4] Right-click inside the Administrator: Command Prompt Window > Paste.
    [5] Press Enter.

    Code:

    sfc /scannow
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    sfc /scannow

    • When the above has finished processing . . .

[6] Right-click on the title bar of the Administrator: Command Prompt Window > Edit > Select All.
[7] Right-click on the title bar of the Administrator: Command Prompt Window again > Edit > Copy.

    • Paste the results into your post using the [CODE] tags . . .

[8] In your post, click the Hashtag icon #.
[9] Click INSIDE the [CODE]Here[CODE] tags and press the Ctrl + V keys together.

    • In your post it will look like this . . .

    Code:

    <<< Results here >>>

     SFC Error Report

However, if there are STILL SFC ERRORS . . .

[1] Press the Win + X keys together > Command Prompt (Admin).
    [2] Highlight the command below.

    NOTE:

If you have a Relocated Desktop, then change the %UserProfile% part of the Command below to the actual path of the Relocated Desktop folder.

[3] Press the Ctrl + C keys together.
[4] Right-click inside the Administrator: Command Prompt Window > Paste.
    [5] Press Enter.

    Code:

    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log > "%UserProfile%\Desktop\SFC_Details.log"

    • This will create a SFC_Details.log file on the Desktop.

    EITHER:

Copy & Paste the results into your post using the [CODE] tags . . .

[1] Open the SFC_Details.log file in Notepad.
[2] Press the Ctrl + A keys together.
[3] Press the Ctrl + C keys together.
[4] In your post, click the Hashtag icon #.
[5] Click INSIDE the [CODE]Here[CODE] tags and press the Ctrl + V keys together.

    • In your post it will look like this . . .

    Code:

I wonder if this could be related to the constant message I get in WU about not being able to install KB5000842 optional update. It downloads and goes through the install, but then gives a message with error 0x8007000d.

The ERROR code 0x8007000d relates to Invalid Data.

You could either look through the Windows Update Log to see if you can see where the problem is, and then try to fix it manually, OR, you could possibly perform an In-Place-Upgrade - Repair Install.

I found this thread for you which also covers this problem . . .
