Cannot install Samsung NVMe driver for NVMe 970 Pro

    Mine is a SM951 128GB M.2 AHCI SSD, MZ-HPV128HDGM version, just a little different from the SM951 NVMe MZ-VPVxxx0
    My SM951 128GB M.2 AHCI SSD, MZ-HPV128HDGM version shows up on device manager as Disk drives.

    I have managed to install Samsung NVMe driver after switching from RST to AHCI in BIOS.

    That is good news.

    Don't you have to edit the register to AHCI before you change in BIOS?

    No, I have used System configuration to switch to Safe boot.

    But the procedure is the same to update the driver.
    You may have to rely on Microsoft drivers, I don't think Samsung provides drivers for OEM SSDs.

    There is a driver for my SM951 drive (for Win 7 and 10). No issues

    Yeah, I did some research and found that drive can simply use Windows' drivers - that is doesn't need the NVMe drivers.

    And yeah, my NVMe drives also show in disk manager as Disk Drives, but the actual driver for them show under Storage Controllers.
