I checked your BIOS... I don't see anything in there for PWM fans... well at least nothing in the manual.

Your rig puts mine (10 years old this month) to shame, but here's a picture taken earlier, bottom on the right.



The only change since then is moving the graphics card to the right from PCIEX16 to PCIEX4_X1 to give access to the second PCIEX1_2 slot for a 2nd USB3 board which I intend to get in due course.

And this shows the inside front (the bottom is on the left, the picture has got rotated)



In the middle of the bottom of the front panel is the power button so I don't think it's realistic to put fan(s) there.

Sorry to be lagging the replies, I'm trying to craft a decent reply which takes me longer than perhaps it should.

Either get two of these for your current case... or get a new case, like...

In the manual Section 2-8 PC Health Status references PWM but only for CPU Smart Fan Control.

Exactly. That's why I picked those two Corsair 120mm 3 pin fans.

If it was me, I'd just get a better case, like the one I linked. It comes with fans. :)


And, all your stuff will fit.




But with your current case, all you would need is those two Corsair fans (UK prices and stores), and then get rid of the side duct.



From the pic of the inside it looks like that hard drive is near the RAM. RAM is HOT.
If you look at the pic of MY comp... nothing is by the RAM

Thanks for all your thoughts and comments. Much to dwell on. I'm currently inclined to buy Noctua NF-A9 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (92mm, Brown): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories and see how it goes.

My PC is a bit like the old yard broom. It's had 4 new handles and 5 new heads, but I've still got the same broom . The only parts of the PC that are original are the case, MB & processor, USB2 card. Everything else has been replaced over the years.

Noctua makes great fans... but unless you find a way to control them, or have some Gigabyte software that will... Just get a couple 3 pin fans.

That's what hubs are for.


And it has 10 USB ports. 6 0n the back and 4 on the front.

I have a similar case and temperatures are around 10ºC above room temperature.
I have a 80mm rear fan but it remains off almost all year. I connect it only when room temperatures are over 30ºC.
How did you measured the temperatures?
Open the case side panel and put your hand over the HDD. At 50ºC you should feel very hot.
If you leave the case side panel open, what temperatures you get?

If you install the rear fan, I suggest you close (with a tape) the side air intakes to force the air to come from the front.
