@FreeBooter All the USB stuff got uninstalled.

An now the USB Root Hub and Host Controller. Both have been uninstalled... Attachment 323536

Is that Chipset? I don't know.

Sounds like an Intel CPU thing. Should I uninstall my Intel driver? If that's what it sounds like, sounds risky.

Please run the chkdsk switches overnight.
The ETA often changes as it moves to another stage.

Olay, scannin complete.

It only took 7 hours and then it had an error. The log seems to stop abruptly so I copied the command prompt results from where it left off, hence two dox.

For academic purposes you can see if there was any impact by running HD Tune full error scan.

There is one final quick test before you trash the drive.

Trash the drive! I don't want to do that. Can I just wait until the drive is too old? You know, let it go naturally.
I came here for a USB problem; it's not even the system drive. It'll be ok -- until it's not.

I won't run that HD Tuna until I have it backed up.

What's your last test?

The drive can go manually.
If there are read and / or write problems then it may consume time during its remaining lifespan.

I bet you the meter's backwards.

See... Everything is "OK". Some of parts are even always ok.

Please run the HD Tune full error scan overnight.

The HD Sentinel column on the far left was missing.
It has the drive information.
Please post new images.

Those were high lifetime temperatures (71).

Thanks for the advice Mac. Like I said, I don't guess that scan is going to happen. All my drives are full. Have to process a few thousand hours of media before I get the room to back it up. Talking heads, days and says an days of talking heads.
That would be a good band name.

If it dies... I'll tell you about the funeral.

I don't get it, what is on the left that's not in the screenshots? Its got the heath, the temps, what do you need? Drive models were on the Tuna cans.

For the first time the D: drive is having problems. Yesterday it vanished during transfer. 

PComp restarted and it was still gone. Gave the comp a bump --Maybe it's a jiggly wire from the shop pullout. 

2cnd restart -- Back in action.



Some time later... I began a file transfer again. While the "Calculating..." was beginning, "BLUE_SCREEN-QR", 0% loading, an' ugly noise. Forced restart. It's doing well. Did this between drives for a while:



Then, with prompt command:
