how to get extended model number info when motherboard changed

is there a utility to run?
Example, I have 2 ASUS laptops, one is q525ua-B17T9 for the complete model number from the tag
Other Asus is a q504u, tag label on back is damaged cant be read, and besides that I had to change MB and the part number is different even though it is the same configuration, I have no idea what the real entire model number is.
So I dont know the final 6 or more digits.

90NB0BZ0-R00060 is the new motherboard, old is 60NBOBZO-MB1520

I already made an error buying a wrong digitizer, the connection wont match my touch board, so will have to be returned.
The ebay one comes with a new touchboard which I assume my cable will plug into. But then there is a question about shape of camera - microphone ports, honestly it is a mess.

And I replaced the motherboard with a slightly different number printed on the motherboard.

I cant determine the proper part for the screen digitizer as I want to get the one that will definitely work with the replacement motherboard.

example here is one off Amazon, but It will only work on q504u with those series of last digits to the model name.
Some people say on the questions, they have a q504u without the correct least digits and the seller says it wont work on there laptop.

If it is contained in the motherboard's firmware then System Information should display it.

Alas, @Bree System Information doesn't always report version info -- notice that for my Asrock Extreme 7+ it shows nothing for the version field.

If I use Gabe Topala's System Information for Widows (SIW-Home), it shows the serial number for the mobo

But it's a for-a-fee tool. Goes off to check if Speccy does likewise. Looks like it could be more helpful as it gives SN and version:

    speccy does not show it
I can get the serial number from the bios page, but it does not show the full model number, go figure.
If I can find a program that can list it on this PC, then I assume it will on the other ASUS, which is at my daughter's house ight now.

I dont like ordering a part, then find out it has to go back. For all I know the new motherboard is one of the listed models.
But I cant know for sure yet. ASUS has no online help, contact, etc... only seems for warranted item. Their MyASUS app is worthless, shows no info on this laptop. What they want you to do is send it to a service center,

serial number by this command, still no B17T9 showing up, it may not be in the system anywhere? Actually this is pretty bad considering you buy a replacement motherboard for a laptop, but then you can never know the full model number for parts?

Maybe that Amazon digitizer will work, I just dont know. I got half a mind to just buy a complete replacement laptop for her.

Example here are 2 variations of digitizer for this same model q504u. And mine is different from the 2, so there are at least 3 different digitizers for same laptop model number q504u. Note these connector tabs on these two are different widths from mine,

Sigh. It's always a crapshoot, trying to match parts and motherboards. Best thing to do is surf online until your eyes bleed to make SURE you've got a match-up. Buy using your credit card, and make sure you get a "no-questions asked" return policy (so you can send stuff back if it doesn't work, even if you only get a 5-day window for such returns, worth paying a bit extra for -- but watch out for "restocking fees").
    Sigh again: my sympathies @sdowney717.
    Hope you get things sorted.

yes, thanks. The ebay one I boutght that I found out is wrong, can be returned no fee, I have to pay shipping back.
The Amazon one if the camera and microphone line up, maybe would work, it is complete with touch board. But they mention nothing about returns. Would not want to keep it if it wont work.

Sort of logically you would think if it fits in the screen bezel and cable plugs together and it is for the same base model it ought to work.

Amazon.com: LCDOLED Replacement 15.6 inches Touch Screen Digitizer Front Glass with Controller Board for ASUS Q504 Q504U Q504UA Q504UA-BHI7T21 Q504UA-BBI5T12 Q504UA-BHI5T13 Q504UA-BBI5T25 Q504UA-BI5T26 (No Bezel): Computers & Accessories

I contacted amazon seller and they told me this digitizer will work for me. the only potential issue is camera board-mic holes are not going to line up perfectly. Maybe i can line up camera and mic wont be lined up. I wonder how that would affect sound, can't drill holes in glass.

Can anyone tell me what the 3 holes are for on top of the screen glass? Center is the camera, but what of the 2 smaller side holes, is there a single microphone or stereo LR microphone, is there an ambient light sensor, one mic, one camera?

It may be easier to find a matching camera board than a digitizer. There are at least 2 or more different camera boards for a q504u. And some had 2 cameras on a camera board.
Any one know which camera board numbers are available for q504u ?

While these are nice notebook PC, they are a repair disaster, Frankenstein of parts combinations, are all laptops like this?

For computer info you can use command line and third party software:

    Manufacturer
    Serial number
    Product
    Version
    Serial number
    Identifier number
    UUID
    etc.

    Belarc Advisor
    Speccy
    CPU-Z
    HWinfo64
    etc.

See if these commands provide some of the information:

    Code:
    wmic bios get serialnumber

    wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serialnumber

    wmic csproduct get name,identifyingnumber,uuid
