How to find device names for which driver updates are meant for?

I have couple driver updates. But I can't find (for what devices they are exactly meant for) by their names. Any way how to find out? If I only knew their Hardware IDs, or if it showed proper names! I use Sledgehammer and WuMgr for updates. And in Device Manager I have only 3 yellow devices, so looking there won't help! I asked Intel about these, but they didn't answered me. I suppose there must be a way to find out, for which devices these drivers are exactly meant for...

I know, I have my reasons. I don't want to Install Intel Chipset Drivers. I wan't to install each driver manually. I use Sledgehammer to prevent crappy drivers to install.

It is a script from these forums to prevent Windows Updates from automatically installing, it also blocks automatic driver updates!

Again there are only 3 yellow devices, but in picture of WuMgr there are more. Also don't know which drivers correspond to which devices!

I need to upgrade using WuMgr, or Wutm possibly. But I would like to know for what devices are each of these drivers meant! Maybe there is some cmd command, or something...

This contains all inf configuration files, so System can configure and detect these devices properly. But that's what I want to avoid: it installs inf for all devices! But some cause input lag! Like Intel MEI. I will have to go one by one anyways and test it out. Still I wanted to know what exactly these drivers are for! No idea, if windows update can show you more info about pending drivers to install...

These driver updates you see in Windows update are not meant to be installed as soon as they appear there, unless you experience issues with specific hardware.

If you have yellow triangles in device manager your can search motherboard site for your model after you identify hardware ID's.

To get hardware ID (the one with yellow triangle) in device manager double click on problem device and under "details" tab expand drop down box and select "Hardware IDS" then copy data that says:
PCI\VEN ...

You are looking for DEV number and VEN number only!
If you're not sure please copy entry data here by right click on each entry and "copy" for further instructions.

You misunderstood me. There are only 3 yellow devices, but I have more drivers available to donwload. I Am asking: if there is a way to find out what are these drivers for, which are showing in Windows Update (in this case WuMgr update utility). And that's it. But thanks for help...

I suggest using Google to look up the update versions. Example look up Intel 10.1.16.6

I'm sorry but I think you misunderstood because a user is not supposed to get drivers regularly via any kind of a download, as @spunk said:

You do not need any 3rd party apps to install drivers.

spunk was referring to driver download programs, and I was referring to drivers offered in Windows update.

The only way you should get drivers is from vendor sites, and if you don't know for which device the driver is needed you would look up "hardware ids" property as explained, there is no other way around.

I understand you want to know for which hardware components are those drivers offered in Windows update, and the answer is you can't know because according to your screenshot there is no KB number associated with them so you can't even google out those updates.

as @pbcopter suggested, use google and search for version numbers but again keep in mind that those drivers are not like other Windows updates, these are not supposed to be install unless you experience an issue, this is not my definition, there is a Microsoft article that confirms this but I don't have link right now, but everybody will confirm you this.

Yeah manufacturer's drivers are prefered. Except in this case, where Intel Chipset Drivers cause input lag. I don't want to install all INF files. Only some. But Intel doesn't provide individual INF files. Therefore I need to use Windows Update. I had always input lag, after installing Chipset Drivers on multiple computers! I usually didn't install them and I didn't use sledgehammer in past, otherwise Windows will automatically download these anyway.

I will just try them 1 by 1 and test how it feels and then decide... Since there is no way to find what they are for...
