    Hi there
Nothing wrong with that - I've a couple of servers that run forever unless I'm upgrading (very rarely) hardware. Ensure you take regular backups -- a lot of people who backup say PC data to servers / NAS systems often forget that those should be backed up regularly too !!!!!!!.

In fact it's far better - at least for older spinners to keep them running than having a lot of on off switching. On spinners remember when starting up also the bearings take a lot more wear (friction, cold oil etc) - but once they've settled down there's almost no wear due to them being merely left powered on.

    Cheers

Yep I only recently noticed it as well, I might send them a feature request where can have a task that runs verification of old images every so often to make sure silent corruption hasnt happened.

Having decided to replace the drive, I ordered - Click & Collect - a replacement WD 2TB MyPassport on Friday and collected it that day. On Saturday found it was hanging up and other failures. Event Log showed random I/O retries at various disc addresses. Clearly on its way out before it even got in!

Returned and refunded today ok. Just ordered another one. Hopefully will last longer than 24 hours.
