    Synaptics smbus driver

I have something called synaptics smbus driver in device manager with a yellow exclamination mark, what's this and where do i get the drivers for it?

Solved by rolling back the driver from device manager.

    That's a touchpad driver.
The manufacturer's website for the motherboard in your specs, doesn't offer a touchpad driver.

Do you have some seriously strange mouse and/or keyboard?

I have a pretty standard keyboard. Strange, why would it show a touchpad driver for my desktop?

Some hardware seems to get this driver. This issue has been around for a while since Microsoft does not always get proper drivers from OEM's and hardware mfg's.

The only thing i can think of, is that i have previously swapped my ssd in my desktop with the ssd in my laptop, could that be the reason why this driver shows up?

    correct.

i happen to have an HP DV7, with Synaptic Driver. From my understanding it's purpose is to keep laptop keyboard and mouse functioning as the primary interrupt controllers .
If you're currently without a touch pad, then it can be removed. good catch on your part

I found a solution. I went into device manager and removed it, but it came back again after restarting my computer, for some reason. So what i did, was that i right clicked on it, clicked on driver and clicked roll back driver. This seems to get rid of it, and there's no yellow exclamation marks left in device manager.
