    Hello Paul,
Thank you for your input. Yes, absolutely helpful. No doubt it will cover my needs for back-up. Just the two question marks I mentioned - incremental back-up and purchase on Internet.. Thanks again.
    You are VERY welcome.

Just to add to steve108's post with regard to Videos . . .

Thanks, Steve. I will seriously consider MR. I just don't like to use my credit card on Internet these days. In Sweden I order food, medicines and many other things on the web and use the Klarna payment service. They send me an invoice on e-mail. A safe way of using a web shop. An other option is PayPal, but I have very bad experience with them...
Can you buy a temporary gift card type credit card there as we can here?

George, you can try the paid version free for 14 days, then decide. Or just try the free version with differential backups.

From the Macrium site, these are the payment methods, if it helps.

    George,

So any idea how your PC got this ransomware on? Maybe your story will help me or someone else who reads it .

    Thanks for the payment options.

No, Steve, I really don't know how. I was not by the PC when it happened. I was searching for a tool on the web to replace a broken one so I quickly went in the garage to look for the specs with the web site open. When I came back after 3-4 minutes I had a message on the screen saying that access to the computer was locked, or something like that. Call "this number" for help. I checked the phone number and found that it was scam...

But I don't know if it really was ransomware as I could stop the attack the way I did. I read on Internet that some of these attempts just lock the screen without doing any damage. But most people don't know what to do so they call the scam number for help and then the scammers demand money to reopen the PC. This type of fraud is very common now and many companies are very badly affected.
