    You formatted it, but the external disk is fine on your other Windows PC - correct? So it should work here too.

    I don't think formatting will help, but it can't hurt as long as you don't need anything on the drive - but how will you format it if this PC is not even showing the drive? Use the other PC I suppose? Okay, give it a try then and let me know.

    Yes, we have 2 other PCs in the family which I can use. But as you I don't think t will change anything. Are there any tricks as how to do the formatting?

    Just follow this: Format Disk or Drive in Windows 10

    Disk 1 won't show in File Explorer as it hasn't been allocated a letter.

    OK, formatting in progress... There was also an option "Restore the unit's standard values". Is that an issue here?

    Good point! . Thank you.

    @togel, Is Disk 1 your external USB drive? Is it there when the external drive is disconnected? Do you know what Disk 1 is? Please check Disk Management with external USB drive disconnected and connected.
