Just a couple of thoughts, one is if the Internet connection is involved [the linked page suggests it] and if I were doing it I'd turn off the power management features for the USB ports and computer, run full-bore, turn off Sleep and Hibernation. Running a Server 24/7 suggests that would work best as would getting a static IP address for the ISP's Internet connection, keep outside influence at a minimum.

    That's an excellent point Berton.

yafatana, if this monitoring software relies on an internet connection, check for a 'Power Management' tab on your WLAN card and make certain the box is unselected.

The time in your Profile suggests Eastern Time Zone of the US, are the power issues part of the weather systems in that region? A UPS not controlled by a computer is far from useless, always gives warnings when commercial power has failed and several minutes to orderly close programs then shut down computers before their charge is depleted which is the final shutdown. The more-expensive power-conditioning type of UPS is more involved.
