    Hallo;@ Matthew Wai,

No, I habe 500 GB SSD. How it becomes 5 Partitions I dont know? There ware onlz 2 Partion each about 250 GB. But as I formated a external disk it was not possibile to dismount it. I shut down the computer and then there were 3 Partitions. Und sunndenly I have more than 500 GB and in Diskgenius one Disk ist nearly full iwth 500 GB.

How I can come to 2 Drives each of them about 250 GB? How it is possible that now I have 5 Partitions?

    Hallo@ Matthew Wai,

I don-t know why the output of Diskgenius is in German language. Output of Diskapart was in english.
But in this output zou can see that there is one Line with recovrey (0, 453 GB) with attribute "h" and one more ppartion ist with "h". Why? How I can become my original system with two partitions? When I calculate alle the spaces I come to more than 500 GB. How it is possible?

Yes, you can see in the attachments Diskpartinfo and Diskgenius. But it shows more space as HD can have?

Your SSD is SAMSUNG MZ7TY256HDHP-000L7, whose capacity is 238.5 GB according to the following page:
    https://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/hdd.php?hdd=SAMSUNG%20MZ7TY256HDHP-000L7&id=12602

Also, DiskPart never lies. DiskPart says it is 238 GB, and DiskGenius says it is 238.5 GB.

Windows Setup created the partitions during the installation process.
    Code:
      Partition ### Type Size Offset
      ------------- ---------------- ------- -------
      Partition 1 Recovery 450 MB 1024 KB
      Partition 2 System 99 MB 451 MB
      Partition 3 Reserved 16 MB 550 MB
      Partition 4 Primary 237 GB 566 MB
      Partition 5 Recovery 604 MB 237 GB
I think one of the two "Recovery" partitions can be deleted. You cannot delete "System", "Reserved", and "Primary" unless you want reinstallation.

There should be no space between the symbol @ and the letter M.

    Hallo @Matthew Wai,
please explain me: How it is possbile that there are following Partions:
    P1 450 GB, P5 604 GB; I have only one ssd with 228,5 GB.
    How I can delete P1 und P5?
Are there two operating systems? Why are there P1 und P5 ? Is there the old Operating system? Who has bulit Recovrey Partitions P1 und P5? There is not so much space on SSD? Where is this space?
Perhaps are the fool questions , but it will be good for me to get a explanation.

Partition 1 is 450 MB. Partition 5 is 604 MB. The unit is MB, not GB. 1024 MB = 1 GB.

I don't know what you have done today. You can delete all the partitions and clean install Windows from scratch if you are interested.

    Hello @Matthew Wai,
Thank you for pointing out MB and GB. I still have a few questions. more for Beginners.
    1. Can the total of all space for all partitions exceed the GB of HD?
    2. After I was able to reset the old system with your help, 2 Patitions suddenly not there? Were these Recovrey partitions created by the system in case I want to go back to old operating system ?
    3. How can I create a partition (approx. 50 GB) so that I can assign it to another letter e.g. D:? Then I can use it to for my private datas.
    4. Wouldn't it make sense if I made a system backup to an external HD now, after all the things are OK?
    5. Can I also have a boot file on this external HD?
    6. Where is the MBR located? Is this area particularly protected?
    7. Can I also assign partitions 1 and 2 letters D: and E: and is this only be possible with extended partitions? Can I have more than one extended partition?

Have you restored the laptop to the previous version of Windows, i.e. the version that went with the laptop?
