Will my mousetrackpad work if I lay aprotector over it?

I was thinking about placing one of those cellphone screen protectors over my laptop's built in mouse trackpad.
Will it s work (as well) for tracking and clicking?
    Any downside to doing this?

Hi well in my opinion not a good idea. I would think it would make it harder to use. It might cause issues with unwanted movement of pointer. If you already have the protector place it over it without gluing it down and see what happens

I personally would NOT do this, although I have NEVER actually tried it myself.

The Touchpad is exactly what it says, and adding a Screen Protector could possibly depreciate its intended purpose and sensitivity.

You could of course, put a Screen Protector over say half of the Touchpad and test it.

    Just my thoughts!

    I hope this helps.

Do you work in a garage, operate the touchpad with dirty hands and just want to keep it clean?

Although it wouldn't be my preference, that's quite irrelevant if this is something you want to try.
Don't tell Microsoft but... I strongly believe that using Windows 10 is about personal choice and that's completely up to you.

You can always add the protector with a small tab of Scotch or electrical tape on one end. The tape could assist with removal if you don't like the performance or when it's time to change the protector.

Look in here to adjust the Touchpad sensitivity. Good luck and please report back on how it works for you.
