The only other Ryzen cpu I have is the 3900x which is in this machine.

The mobo has a special socket for a usb stick and a button to press so I assumed that was the flash back.

Well you have a BIOS flash back button. maybe try with the CPU out. there's a motherboard BIOS flash LED that will let you know if it's working.

It's weird....you have the hardware for a BIOS flashback, but I don't see that in your manual.

The manual seems to indicate it does.

Page 1-22. I think it may be the CPU and the lack of support the mobo has for it before updating that may be causing it to not post.

Did you turn the computer OFF. Step 4. ?

I'm assuming "shut down" means off.

Yea I used the Bios renamer to use the proper name.

Mobo is lit, does it need to be completely off then?

It sounds like it need to be off. In the very bottom section, it even says, do not "power system", until it's done.
The battery should allow it to work.

Just the case power switch. leave the PSU plugged in and turned on.

LOL. I can't believe you were lazy or trusting enough, to use the renamer.

Yea I think they mean dont press the reset button during the process.

I will remove the cpu as I think thats blocking things atm and then try when I come back.

Nah bro... it says shut down.

Look at the stuff in the squares...

Somewhere else in your manual, it says the USB stick needs to be one single partition, FAT32, and the only thing on it is the renamed BIOS file.

The top RED square clearly says shut down the computer, and the bottom RED square clearly says...

Do not take out the USB stick, power on the computer or clear the CMOS until after the Flash back is done.

And btw, if you just put one RAM stick in...you should put it in slot #2 counting away from the CPU.

    /edit

It would be a lot easier to just put the 5600X in the Asus Strix x570-E motherboard.
You can flash that board from within the BIOS.
