New NVME Running at HALF Speed - What could be the cause?

I just installed a new Sabrent Rocket 4TB NVME (TLC) in the slot where I used to have my WD SN750 1TB benchmarked at approx 3500MB on Read. This slot does not share its bandwidth. Its a simple swap and the Sabrent should be hitting those marks too but it is scoring only half of that... so approx 1750MB.

I've put in a support ticket but am wondering if anyone might know what could be causing this, or what a solution might be.
Or if this means it's defective? What do you guys think?

hmmmm....yeah that drive really should be hitting speeds in the 5000MB/s range.

The only thing I could think of is that the drive is hot to the point where it's overheating? Do you have something HWInfo32 which can show the temperatures on that NVMe? it could also be defective.

Specs on this one should be around 3500MB (PCIe3)
Temps seem normal...

maybe I should have gone with QLC instead of TLC...since it will mostly be for "reading"

Did you look to see if a driver is needed. Contrary to popular belief some NVME drives do require a driver for optimum performance. I use Samsung NVME drives and they have drivers for them.

Unfortunately, doesn't look like there's anything available...and firmware is up to date.

The WD SN750 was working at its max speed (3500) in this slot before I swapped it out today.

This doesn't explain your issue, but there's clearly a problem.

As you've seen, Sabrent uses the Windows NVME drivers.
