Dasha,
You do not reply to me. You post in the thread as you have done.
- If you want to make it clear who you are addressing you can just start a post or a para within it with Try3, or similar.
You can quote all or part of what somebody else has posted but you must also write something before or after the quote.
- Your screenshot shows that you had not written anything before or after the quote
- You had tried to write something within the text and that almost always ends up being unintelligible.
If you want to split the quote up so you can respond to individual parts of it then notice that the quote starts with, for example,
and ends with
- You can copy the
...
into new lines then cut & paste the relevant text between those markers.
- The =Dasha part of the code causes "Dasha said" to appear at the start of the quote.
- The ;number part of the code identifies the post from which the quote is taken and makes the right-angled arrow appear - this arrow is a link back to the quoted post.
- You can also use
...
without any attribution and this can be handy if you have lots of individual bits to quote
- When you do manipulate
...
manually, you'll find it very easy to accidentally cut out a ] or a [ or a [/ which will corrupt the layout so it is always worth editing complex posts like that using the "Go advanced" button so you can check a preview of the post before you post it.
I do not know what means.
You need to specify a path for the driver backup. I told you what I used but you do not have to do the same.
- I include the computer name in the path because I backup all my computers to the same external drives and I want to keep each one separate there.
- It's up to you but I don't see any benefit in including the name of the external drive in the path. It just does not seem significant.
Best of luck,
Denis
