Yes, it will work but you can delete the SSD without any enclosure, just install in the other computer, boot with the installation media and delete the contents on this drive, anyway, tell us how you are going to use this drive, are you going to install OS on it or use as a storage device? If you are going to use the enclosure often, yes it's better to buy.

I need to get a caddy to use in the future. I haven't got the other PC yet so I might as well get the caddy now.

    Thanks for the help.

Your M.2 drive is a MTFDDAV256TBN. It is a SATA drive not a NVMe drive.

The Sabrent M.2 SSD [NGFF] USB 3.0 aluminum Enclosure (from the link) doesn’t support M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs.
I would look for a adapter that could be compatible with SATA and NVMe

I've got a solid state M.2 2280 (256gb) hard drive from a dead pc. I won't to wipe it and put it in another computer.
What connections does the other computer already have?

I have an old M2 in a caddy. I eventually put the caddy in a USB enclosure so I could use it externally until I thought of a permanent use for it.

Same connections. One for an M.2 drive and one for a normal hard drive and SSD. I've installed Windows on it with the M.2 and it works well.
