    Dual boot can I rename my drives?


    I have a dual boot set up windows 10/7 win, 7 is installed on a separate internal drive call virtual on my d drive can I rename it to win 7 without any boot up problems.

    If you're talking about the "label", yes, you can name it w/e you want.

    Just don't change the drive LETTER.

    Your question is not clear to me but:
    I have a dual boot, each system being on its own SSD.
    Each system is on its drive with drive letter C:
    Both have acces to a data disk E:
    In one system I do not see the SSD drive of the other system (no drive letter assigned)
    During booting the names of de systems are given via easyBCD

    You can change the Drive Label without an issue, but DON'T change the Drive Letter because this is part of the Boot process.

Dual Boot with GPT and MBR Drives?

Can I have both a GPT and MBR formatted drives on a dual boot system? I would like to retain my Win 7 installation as is with MBR formatted hard drive, and after the Win 8.1 to Win 10 upgrade, do a clean Win 10 install with GPT (UEFI) format.
