    Problem Item in Device Manager

    Can anyone help me identify the device that's causing this? It a brand new Dell XPS 8940 desktop. I've tried uninstalling the item but it keeps coming back. The PC is fully updated and there are no drive updates missing.

    Yes, that’s the first thing a tried. I also tried uninstalling the driver but a restart brings back the error. I also tried installing all the optional updates from Windows update. None of that worked.

    My go-to for Dell issues is support.dell.com and plug in the Service Tag for the model, found on a sticker on the case and probably in the BIOS. There's also the Express Service Code on that sticker that when entered gives the as-shipped build information. So far the only drivers I haven't gotten for Dell Notebooks is for the PCMCIA or Express cards but they are mostly out of favor since the advent of USB Thumb drives and SDHC cards.

    Good idea, I thought about doing that just a few minutes ago and I’ll definitely be doing that later this morning. Dell makes it even easier now with an app right on the start menu that takes you right to the downloads page for your specific PC. I think you can even enroll in automatic software and driver updates. Seems like something I’ll be doing later this morning. Thanks.

    @Samuria @zbook @Berton
    Thank you all for your help. From the hardware ID I learned that this was related to the USB Type-C driver and is common to the RTX2060 Video Adapter. I remembers that yesterday afternoon I install the nVidia GeForce Experience app and elected to install only the graphic card driver. This morning I reinstalled the Experience app and elected to do a clean install of all the drivers including the USB Type-C driver. Problem solved!
