Cursor jumps around (!) all the time; "updatest" driver from 2006 (?)

    Hi there!
My mouse is simply jumping around a lot: many times it simply reappears in the right bottom of my screen without a warning, while I'm pointing to a different area. I use an external monitor, and a simple optical wireless Logitech mouse (though this happens with all mice I tried!).

I thought it may be a driver issue, but in Device manager I get always the same: the latest driver is from 2006! Nothing on google to solve this either! Help!

This usually happens because there is a stuck key on the keyboard. Is the keyboard wired or wireless? If wireless, replace the batteries. Turn the keyboard upside down and give it a shake and blow out the keys with a can of compressed air to remove all crumbs and dust.
Try a different keyboard, or unplug the old one and use the On Screen Keyboard for a test.

The 2006 date is the original release of the driver and the version is the current update.

There was a reason MS keeps the 2006 date but I forgot where I saw the reason.

You have two mice listed. Are you also connected to a KVM switch? I've seen this behavior when mouse emulation is enabled on my KVM switch (for my wired mouse).

However, I've seen this behavior with wireless mice usually when there is something interfering with the signal (like a metal cabinet, for example).

Have you tried a WIRED mouse?
