Thanks for this thread. I have a Dell Inspiron 5575 (not a gaming model at all) and am having the same issue and it was right after installing I think the same update. So I hope per the latest posts in this thread some new patch will fix it. One thing to note is that when I click on "This PC" and then properties sometimes it shows the right amount of memory (16 gb) and other times it was showing 8 gb. mine came with 16 gb and I never touched it or changed it.
Yours is the first 5575 that has reported the problem (Only Inspiron 5577's and 4 Alienware model laptops have reported the exact same problem on the Dell forum). And it appears to not be exactly the same. With this problem the ONLY place it shows an error is at boot up. The BIOS and Windows always shows the correct of memory. This PC, on mine, only shows the drives, not system memory.

You can wait until the updated Support Assist is issued (late March is last info I got from Dell and I'll report on here) and see if it also fixes yours. Or using one of the two listed methods completely uninstall Support Assist and see if your specific problem goes away.

Hmmm, thanks! I'll check back here and see if that it fixes it. I sure hope it does. I am pretty sure it came after same update though so I think it might be related as the restart from my update gave me the error as soon as it restarted. Thanks for your help and posts.

New update for Support Assist update. Projected date is now April 19th. Not really unexpected as software target dates are often revised.

April 19th release date missed. No word from Dell on new timeframe.

I downloaded and installed Support Assist this morning and still the old 3.8.10 problem version. The way SA download is set up, there is no way to see what version until its installed.

I removed Support Assistant from both of my Inspiron 15R 5537 Notebooks [1 new about 4 years ago 1 no-cost rehabbed], were too dated for Win10 that were Upgrades over Win8.x.

Fix pushed back again. This is latest from our Dell RockStar Interface:

I am still waiting for this to be confirmed, but I was able to find an updated internal article stating the date moved back - "Dell Engineering are aware of this issue. A fix will be added to the SupportAssist (SA) v3.9 application by the end of May 2021." I asked him if he can confirm this is the new date or if we can at least get a better ETA from the SA team.
I am hoping it's sooner than this, but will keep you posted.

FIXED! Support Assist V 3.9 has been released and I can confirm it fixes the problem in the Inspiron 5577. This is to also fix 4 Alienware laptops with the identical problem.

If you still have Support Assist Installed it will prompt you to upgrade.

If you uninstalled it while waiting for a fix, it can be downloaded HERE (the link is in about the middle of the post).
