    Device not migrated

On windows 10 20H2 I am suddenly having trouble with USB ports. Previously working OK but now certain devices do not work, flash drive for one. There are 2 USB root hubs, one shows device not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match, the other not. I've tried sfc /scannow and there are no problems. Any idea what's going on?

Hi, lots of results if you search for
device not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match

    - suggest uninstalling the root hubs and let them reinstall on reboot.

Did this occur after a Windows update was applied? (See Update History).

Yes, at the end of December last. I've uninstalled the root hubs, there are 2 of them but only one has the error but the erropr persists. I've followed a few search recomendations, one was to reset the bios but I updated it instead.

The problem is they are not flagged in device manager, showing This device is working properly but the error shows in events.

I installed the free version of driver easy and it shows the root hub drivers are up to date.
