First, could you tell us what the Adata USB device is? I can assume it is an external storage drive, but is a portable or desktop one? Model #?

Second, have you tried this 'external drive' in another PC?

    I think I already seen a thread with this issue. It's a 20h2 bug.
Run WU to install latest patches.

Shutdown, remove the Adata USB and boot.
Once on Windows, plug the Adata USB.
    Does it show on Explorer?
Open Disk manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc). Is it there?

If it shows a healthy partition on the drive in Disk Management, you just have to give the partition a drive letter.

If it shows up in device manager and does not show up in disk manager nor in diskpart, list disk, then either the HDD itself is bad or the interface between the USB port and the HDD is bad.

Other things to try, though, boot from a Linux Live USB flash drive or a Windows PE flash drive and see it shows up there. Also try it on a different computer.

Install and run MiniTool Partition Wizard Free 12.3
    It's a better disk manager.
See if you can see the drive. Try another USB port.

The diagnostic can go in two directions: A problem with the PC or with Windows on the PC, or it could be with the external drive itself.

By plugging it in to another PC we can eliminate one or the other.
That will make diagnostic testing more efficient.
