Yeah... they took really slow 5400rpm spinners and added a teeny SSD inside, to make them a bit faster. Called them SSHDs. (Solid State Hard Drives)
They are physically one drive, but logically two drives.

These days, stuff is so cheap, they don't need to do that anymore.

IF there is a separate Liteon SSD it will be the size of one of those things that goes in a card reader. LOL
It could even be just an IC chip.

The long and short of it is... even IF there is two physical drives, you can replace them with one drive.
When you make the backup (with Macrium) it will grab everything you need to boot the system, no matter how many drives it's on.

With the HD problems Windows was clean installed.
So for this drive there are no important files.

Will a replacement SSD fit into the current cage or will an adapter be needed?

The Liteon 8 GB drive can be left as is?
or will it impact a replacement SSD?
If it uses flash cache (hardware raid 0 ?) will that impact the performance of a replacement SSD?

    It may be a $25 - $50 DVD player?

Here's my guess. You would need HP for a definitive answer.

It's an SSHD. Replace it with an SSD, then if it doesn't exactly fit the cage you can use double stick tape.
All it HAS to fit is the connector.

As for the questions of "possible" raid/liteon impact... again you'd need to talk to HP for that.

/edit Maybe Device Manager might give you a clue. See if there are RAID drivers.

I have SSD, 2 spinners and an optical drive...

Doesn't appear to be an SSHD.

    But it's definitely a 2.5" x 9.5mm thick spinner.

    @zbook

These will all drop right into your notebook. They're all 2.5" x 9.5mm HDDs...

Yes, any new 2.5" form factor drive (spinner or SSD) will fit in the drive bay of the laptop. The existing HTS7275A9E364 is 9.5mm tall so even a 7mm tall drive would fit.

HP sometimes uses a bridge connector between the MB and the physical HDD, but these just pop off and can be reconnected to any standard SATA drive. (Some laptops have standard SATA connectors built in).

It looks like a straight forward replacement to me. Is there a particular concern you have about the process?

I have used many 120G Bx500. They are fast and cheap. They only cost US$25 and it's all you need for your applications.

The LMT-32L3M-HP is a 32GB mSATA SSD Drive.
The HTS727575A9E364 is a SATA 300 HDD. Hard Disk Sentinel - Technical details for disk HITACHI HTS727575A9E364

If you replace the HDD with a SATA 600 SSD it will work much better. Don't know what to do with the 32GB mSATA SSD Drive as it is slower than a SATA 600 SSD. UserBenchmark: Crucial BX500 vs Liteonit LMT-32L3M

My advice is to just drop a 2.5" SATA SSD in the laptop. 2.5" SATA SSDs are direct replacements for notebook hard drives, there will not be any issue with just dropping any 2.5" SATA SSD in there. I do not like the ADATA brand, though, I've had bad luck with them. Samsung, Toshiba, or Sandisk are usually cheap alternatives.

Don't be concerned with the 32 GB Liteon mSATA drive. If there is something in BIOS to disable it, I would disable it. Now would also be a good time to check the SATA controller mode in BIOS too, you want AHCI.
