New PC Build, Issues with Keyboard in BIOS Setup

    Hello,

I am having trouble setting up my recently built PC.
I have a picture of the issues I am running in to. My keyboard (though detected) is completely unresponsive when entering BIOS. At first, I thought it might be a motherboard issue, but i've tried switching motherboards and I encounter the same problem.

Additionally, the computer thinks that two keyboards are plugged in, and 1 mouse (no mouse plugged in).

    Specs:
    TUF Gaming z490-PLUS Motherboard
    Intel i9-10900KF Core
64 GB of Corsair RAM (In the picture, I'm troubleshooting with 32 gb of ram)
    Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070
    Noctua NH d15
    Razer Keyboard

What Razer keyboard? Do you have the intel Optane drive or memory installed as the screen shot suggests? If you do, have you set it up correctly....according to intel, what ever that is? In the BIOS do you have USB legacy enabled?

I'm pretty new to all of this so I may not know every term.
I have a Huntsman mini keyboard.
The computer is freshly built, so presumably, I have no software installed anywhere. I can't even enter the BOIS as the keyboard is unresponsive, and I can't ennact anything.

After watching several videos, and confirming with several friends, all of my hardware is hopefully in the right place.

There can be an issue with keyboards and the BIOS in that most BIOSes have built-in support for USB 2 ports but USB 3 drivers are loaded after the Operating System. As mentioned, Legacy BIOS needs to be Enabled and the keyboard plugged into a USB 2 port. USB 2 = black center USB 3 = blue center

There are newer boards that have combination USB 2 and USB 3 ports.

Ok, so the keyboard lights up, but the BIOS can't recognise it?
I've tried using every possible port for the keybard to hook up.
Will this be a hardware change inside the computer?

Would picking up a cheaper old keyboard help?

Usually the light on the board means it's getting power from the port but still may not recognize key strokes. If an older board is available wouldn't hurt to try it.

With the recently built PC.....was a clean install of the OS done? If so, is it setup as UEFI or Legacy BiOS? Are you using the supplied USB to USB-C adapter to connect to PC. If so, try it with just the standard USB. If not, try it as your mobo has a type C port.

I always have a PS2 and USB keyboard on standby for such occasions.

BTW....Nice keyboard....my son uses a 60% keyboard. I like the full size keyboard.....I love my Huntsman Elite.

Many thanks to all of you for your help! This problem was solved.
Turns out my keyboard was too new and advanced. Haha
I went over to microcenter and got an old keyboard for $4 and it worked immediately. I was able to get into BIOS and boot my pc.

    Who knew.
Now I can move back to my new nice keyboard.
