New 1TB SSD Not Recognized for some reason

    Hello All

Well i tried port 3 at first, and System does not recognize the new 1TB SSD I purchased, Samsung 860 Evo 1tb, Welcome any advice or suggestions prior to shutting down and trying again, can't see that well the actually power supply connections due to all the wires that shop installed when built this system, i do have a Sata power cable connected

Does my Disk Management look Correct

Boot Drive Samsung M.2 500GB (New at Christmas)
Samsung 860 250GB, Former Boot Drive, now Game SSD(til i can get the 1TB SSD working)
    and 4TB Black Storage drive
and also connected right now 8TB External with my Macirum Images

Should i just remove the Samsung 860 250GB? and get that one working later on the extra Serial ata mounts, and instead use the connections for the Samsung 860 Evo 1tb that will become the new game SSD? Are the partitions correct on the 250GB current gaming SSD? if not then i can fix that, and then reimage, then get the 250gb off the Internal 2.5/3.5 inch drive tray, secure the 1tb, re connect the cables, close up case, and then restore Macrium drive image

The BIOS for your motherboard appears to have an option to enable / disable each individual SATA port. Make sure that the port to which you are connecting the new drive is enabled.

If that still doesn't work, shutdown the system and then try temporarily disconnecting one of the other drives and connect the new drive to the same connectors that were used for that drive. This way you have a set of connectors (power and SATA data connection) that are known to be good. If the drive is still not detected I would start suspecting a bad drive.

Well Enableing the Serial ATA ports did nothing, Port 3 Enabled, Port 4 Enabled, Port 5 Enabled, nada, Not sure how shop whom built this system secured the 250GB on the Disk Bay tray at all, i don't see any screws holding it in place at all, i guess i can see if the current cables off that drive reaches the extra Sata mount where the 1TB is.

Just have to lug Desktop tower case back to work table, and work on it, and then put it back on bottom shelf of desk and pray it works right, then if does i'll be happy, just would have to restore system image of the data to that drive.

Should my Game SSD have Healthy EFI partition and Recovery partition on that drive?

Unless you are dual booting two different physical drives, only one of them (the drive with Windows installed) should have an EFI and Recovery Partition. You need to be careful though as the computer may be booting from your drive 0. What are the results of:

    Code:
    diskpart
    select disk 0
    detail disk
If it says "Boot Disk: Yes", then your computer is booting from the EFI system partition on Disk 0.

    Code:
    reagentc /info
Will tell you which disk the active recovery partition is on.

You do not need the EFI system partition nor the Recovery Partition on disk 0.

Got so fed up with trying different data cables, finally i was like ok will remove the 250GB for now, and put this 1TB in the spot 250GB was using, used its cables, and lol it worked immediately. Someday i'll have to get some real life peace and completely clean up the wiring of the system, so i can even see if Sata 2 is plugged into Power supply or not

worked immediately when i did the above steps

**I know Cable management sucks, sometime when i get more zip ties, and such, and time to do it without annoying RL interruptions then will get it done** asap---That is where the 1TB Samsung evo didn't work, unknown if that cable was connected at other end to power supply or not, i couldn't even see the other side of power supply to check that option

    **Probably the worst 2020 wiring**
Not too good for my high blood pressure stressing over issues lol, but should be fine now i think, unless i readd the 250gb sometime and it goes up again

Yeah i'm happy i got it working, sadly didn't have any more wire ties, or even evga velcro straps left, not that they would've cleaned it up much i don't think lol, someday if i ever wanna upgrade video card, will upgrade power supply also, and do a complete rewire/cleanup, probably only way gonna clean up any.

Got Front Fan RGB wires to the controller at the rear above the power supply, got extra ssd mounts back there, got the 2 drive trays at the front, so many cables
