    Intel RST Driver Question

I've never been able to find an explanation...closest think was win-raid.com. My desktop has a Z270 chipset and my new Dell XPS 15 9500 has a mobile 400-series chipset. Right now I'm running Intel RST driver version 18.30.3.1148 on both. Based on what I read the 400-series chipset is a good fit for the 18.x series of drivers. While it installs and seems to work well on the older Z270 chipset, am I losing out on anything by not using older 16 or 17 series drivers? Intel has an outdated explanation for graphics drivers but doesn't post anything about other drivers...RST, chipset, wifi/PROSET, etc. Just curious.

Don't have an answer to your specific question, but I discovered that MS AHCI driver performed better for me than Intel AHCI driver, so I've dumped the Intel driver and RST app in favor of the MS driver after reading someone else's post about the same experience. Intel RST vs Windows AHCI drivers.

My performance test was based on using Samsung Magician's Performance Benchmark numbers with both drivers as I have a Samsung SSD.

I have also swapped Intel RST AHCI driver for MS AHCI driver. MS one can even be more up to date.
