Just keep updated images with Macrium to a external drive and enjoy your new SSD.

I've have moved pagefile.sys from the C: drive (SSD) to D: (HDD) and disabled hibernation (powercfg -h off). Now only the swapfile.sys remain (260MB) on the SSD.

That is not true. And the pagefile.sys should be on the fastest drive in the computer, ideally the same drive and partition as the OS, not on the slowest drive.
I have to agree with Navy, the pagefile needs to be on the faster SSD drive, not the slower HDD drive. All this is doing is decreasing system performance.

And if your reason for moving the pagefile to a slower drive is fear of prematurely wearing out the the SSD it is unfounded. The drive will last far longer and under much heavier conditions than than what the pagefile could do.

Working very well for me for years. Haven't seen any performance degradation as my memory usage is never above 60%.

If you have enough memory to not run out of memory you will never use virtual memory.

If you're satisfied with your setup that's all that counts.

    Good luck.

I'm on the Insider program and try to do a image once a week or before installing any new builds.

Just to update you, since last Sunday (13th) to now the write has increased from 557GB to 611GB so quite a lot of that initial 557GB must have been the original clone (210GB) and what ever the image restore did, so maybe the same again...

Crystal Disc still shows 99% so that has not dropped any so maybe it works on a rolling basis, initially thought I would be writing large amounts of data but has now settled down...

What do you think of HD Sentinal to monitor SSD drives?

Unless there's something wrong indicated by SMART, don't worry about health because it also takes into account age of disk, time used and number of total writes so higher those are it may indicate lower "health" although there's nothing wrong with it.

It should be a while and quite a lot of TB written before that drops to 98%.....

    54 gb in 6 days; that's 9 a day and 3.3 TB a year.

Even less than I write; looks like you have nothing at all to worry about.

Take a look at it every few months to reconfirm.
