right clicking to eject usb stick safely only opens up file explorer

    Hi all,

When I right click to eject usb stick safely it doesn't allow me to remove the flash drive but it opens up file explorer for the USB stick.
I can still eject it by opening up "This PC" and ejecting that way but it's too may clicks.
Is there a fix for this?
Do I still have to use Remove Safely for Better Performance or can I leave it on Quick Removal?
    I'm on Windows 10 Pro Ver. 20H2 build 19042.685
    Thanks

I noticed that you haven't had a reply to your question so I thought I would try and help.

[1] Is everything closed that uses the USB?
[2] So you not getting any messages like "This device is currently in use"?
[3] Look in the Device Manager under Disk drives, right-click on the USB, select Properties, click the Policies tab, and check Quick Removal. Try ejecting the USB again.

Enable or Disable Disk Write Caching in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Paul. That works. I had it on Better Performance. But I have always had it on better performance so that I can use safely remove device. Don't I need to do that anymore?
