Disk 3 has the same disk identifiers as one or more disks

    Hi,

Yes, i have seen the other posts regarding this error.
No i have not cloned any disks.
The error started about 3 weeks ago.
    I'm on windows 10 Version 10.0.19041 build 19041

As Disk 3 holds my media files each time the event occurs the media stream is cut-off. The disk appears to disconnect and then reconnect almost immediately and then i have to restart watching the media file.
So unlike others this issue is causing a distribution on my PC.

Here is a screen shot of my event viewer
Disk 3 has the same disk identifiers as one or more disks-event-view-log.jpg

Here is a screen shot of my disk manager
Disk 3 has the same disk identifiers as one or more disks-disk-manager.jpg

And here is the information i got from Disk Part.

Disk 3 has the same disk identifiers as one or more disks-disk-part.jpg

    I can't see any issues.
Disk "Media" is Disk 3 and is an external Drives connected to the workstation via fast USB. The Drive letter have not been changed but i did unplug the drive and put them back to see if it would fixed the issue.
This drive contains a huge of media data and i don't want to wipe it.
There is also no reason to believe that a wipe will resolve the issue.
Can any one point me in the direction of a solution ?
    Regards

I ran into a similar problem and had to change the disk identifier on the disk to correct the problem.

To do this, follow these steps:

    Run diskpart.

Run "list disk" to determine which disk you want to work on.

Note: You can run "detail disk" to see details for the disk if you need more info for a particular disk.

Run "uniqueid disk id=12345678-1234-1234-1234-123456789012", substituting the Disk ID that you want to assign to the disk. Any made up disk ID will do. Each digit needs to be the number 0-9 or letter A-F (in other words, a hexadecimal value).

After changing the Disk ID, you may want to take the disk offline, close disk manager, storage spaces, and anything else that may have cached info about the disk. When you bring the disk back online it should be good to use again. This will not affect any data on the disk.

OK so for the next 24 hours after changing the unique id the number of occurrences drop. In fact none occurred while i was present. After 48 hours we had 4 issues all around 8pm when i would be accessing media off the drive. Then yesterday all occurrences occurred between midnight and 3am when no one is using the workstation and it sits on idle. Today i downloaded microsoft's Diskspd and stress tested disk 3 . It had no issues and never threw an error. So I'm not sure what is going on. It fixed kind of but not.

    ok. Issue is definitely back.
    This thread https://social.technet.microsoft.com...0itprohardware
says it is a Windows issue. The id not being the uniqueid found in diskpart but another id that is read only and cannot be reset.
Seems to affect a lot of people who have external hard drives set up
