    mbr2gpt messed with over-provisioning (SSD/Samsung Magician)

    Hello,

I just converted my W10 disk/partitions to support UEFI (using mbr2gpt which convert an MBR disk to a GPT one)
How to convert MBR to GPT drive to switch BIOS to UEFI on Windows 10 | Windows Central

Now samsung magician shows me this:
    mbr2gpt messed with over-provisioning (SSD/Samsung Magician)-op.jpg

It seems to see the unallocated over-provisioning that was previously done on the MBR disk, but is proposing to allocate over-provisioning again.

Is it because he does not really see the existing one? Do I need to do something or is it just ok like that?
How make him see that a new OP is not necessary?

    Thanks

Personally I don't use OP and just don't fill the SSD. See Anandteck forum posts here Question - Proper 970 EVO (1tb m2 ssd) Setup: Trim, Over Provisioning, etc | AnandTech Forums: Technology, Hardware, Software, and Deals .

    Others might disagree though.

I completely agree there is no need for overprovisioning as long as you keep space free in your partitions. We need to see a screenshot of disk management, though, to see the current status of the SSD.

My disk 1 was converted (W10 boot partition and some system reserved partitions)

If I have to get the unallocated space back, can I move the reserved partitions?

Edit: Magician see the OP, but does not allow me to reset it. All I can do is add more OP (he counts the original OP in it).

I would delete the system reserved partition, and create a new EFI System partition there. Delete the system partition at the end of C: drive, then move the recovery partition to the end of C: drive partition. (Actually, I would just expand C: drive into the unallocated space, since I don't manually overprovision my SSDs).

Thanks, I'll try that. I wonder why the conversion didn't replace the original reserved 100Mb by the new EFI reserved 100Mb.
