    [Laptop] Can't See Battery Level

After installing an Acer tool PowerSmart Manager to optimize my laptop's battery life, the battery icon disappeared from my notifications area. (This tool was meant for Windows 7).

Not only that, but I can't check the battery levels (using either Windows Mobility options or an external battery monitoring software).

Uninstalling the software doesn't revert the battery icon, and I still can't check my battery levels.
Is there any way of fixing without reinstalling Windows?

I hae exactly the same problem. Location and power are greyed out. I have tried numerous 'solutions', such as editing the registry, rebooting, power draining, etc. None of them have helped. I really hope I can find a solution to this problem somewhere

EDIT: Namm, try the solution found on the following thread: missing battery meter - Page 3 - Windows 10 Forums
you need the BIOS-updating part. I assume you own an Acer notebook since you installed the Acer program?
Go to Drivers en handleidingen downloaden | Officiƫle Acer-site to update your BIOS. I just installed the update for Windows 7 (which my laptop originally used).

Good luck and let me know if it worked!:)
